After graduating with honors and academic distinction in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia, he completed his orthopedic specialization in Switzerland, obtaining the FMH board certification in Orthopaedics and Traumatology with one of the top scores nationwide. He is also a Fellow of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (FEBOT), a prestigious recognition awarded only to selected surgeons who have passed the European board exam.
Dr. Palazzuolo is one of the few orthopedic surgeons with direct clinical and scientific experience in hip resurfacing, including the minimally invasive anterior approach. He has specific expertise in complex joint-preserving procedures, particularly for the treatment of hip dysplasia and femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).

He is actively involved in clinical research, with several publications in indexed international journals and numerous presentations as a speaker at European and global orthopedic conferences. His scientific activity focuses on the biomechanical analysis of the hip and pelvis, on improving patient-specific prosthetic implantation techniques, and on identifying risk factors for implant failure. He is currently engaged in research projects using next-generation 3D imaging to explore the correlation between pelvic morphology and lower limb alignment in order to optimize hip implant positioning.

He is fluent in Italian, English, and French, and is known for his personalized approach to patient care and for integrating cutting-edge technologies — such as 3D planning, computer-assisted navigation, and minimally invasive techniques — to provide effective and tailored surgical solutions.

He currently practices between Switzerland and Australia, collaborating with centers of excellence in both countries and developing multidisciplinary care pathways for patients affected by degenerative and traumatic hip and pelvic conditions.
